The walkthrough
Read the model code and choose a route
Open Settings, Support, About This TV (on 2024 sets, go through All Settings first) to see the model code and software version. On a set from 2016 onward there are two realistic players. IPTV Smarters takes the Xtream login directly on the television and brings catch-up and on-demand sections. Smart IPTV instead receives an M3U link sent from another device, and its lighter interface suits older, slower sets. Pick one before opening the store.
Confirm the clock and time zone
Go to Settings, General, System Manager, Time, Clock; newer sets label the first section General and Privacy. Leave Clock Mode on Auto and check the time zone, which matters most in Portugal, Ireland and the Canary Islands, where the hour differs from much of the continent. The store catalogue also follows the region chosen at first setup, so a set brought from another country may list different apps from one bought locally.
Search the Apps panel
Press Home, move to Apps and open the magnifier at the top of the panel. Type IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV. Samsung adjusts these listings by country from time to time, so if the name you want is missing, look for the other before concluding the television cannot do this. Choose Install, then Open.
Route A: sign in to IPTV Smarters
Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and enter a profile name, the username, the password and the full server URL, keeping http:// and the port. Typing with the remote is slow, so a USB or Bluetooth keyboard saves real time; Samsung lists what is connected under Settings, General, External Device Manager. Press Add User and let the channels and guide data download before you start browsing.
Route B: send the M3U link to Smart IPTV
Open Smart IPTV and note the MAC address shown on its first screen, ideally with a photo. On a phone or laptop go to siptv.app/mylist, enter that MAC, paste your M3U link into the URL field and send it. Close the app on the television completely, open it again, and the channel groups load. Our Smart IPTV guide covers this route and its activation in more detail.
Calm the picture processing
Samsung’s motion processing gives drama a soap-opera sheen and can smear a fast football. Under Settings, Picture, Expert Settings, set Picture Clarity (Auto Motion Plus on older models) to Off, or to Custom with low values. Many European channels arrive at 50 frames per second, and with the interpolation reduced, a pan across the pitch looks closer to what the broadcaster intended.
Build favourites around the countries you watch
Both players group channels by country and category. In Smarters, open a channel’s options to add it to favourites, then use the Favourites section of Live TV each evening instead of working through all 25,000+ channels. When a channel carries more than one soundtrack, change it from the player’s own overlay during playback; the television’s audio language menu applies to its built-in tuner, not to apps.
Recheck the player after firmware updates
With Auto Update switched on under Settings, Support, Software Update, Samsung installs firmware in the background. After a large update, open the player once and confirm it still signs in. Occasionally an update clears an app’s stored data, and re-entering the login in Smarters, or resending the M3U for Smart IPTV, is all it takes to get going again.
When it does not go to plan
Neither player appears in my Samsung store
Catalogues are set by region, and these players are added and withdrawn over time. If neither is listed, a streamer in a spare HDMI port, such as a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device, brings the full choice of players without changing anything on the Samsung. We do not recommend changing a Samsung’s region through service menus.
Listings start an hour before the programme does
Go back to the clock settings in step two. A set configured in one country and used in another often keeps the original zone, and in Auto mode the clock can take its time from a broadcast signal, which is unreliable near borders or when the aerial or dish picks up another country’s channels. Choosing the time zone manually fixes it.
Black picture with sound on a handful of channels
That channel’s video format is the likely cause, and sets from 2016 and 2017 meet it more often with high-bitrate 4K feeds. Choose the FHD or HD copy of the same channel, and if the player offers a choice of playback engine in its settings, try the alternative.
Smart IPTV lost its channels after a factory reset
Smart IPTV keeps the list online against the MAC address, and a reset or reinstall clears the copy held on the television. Open siptv.app/mylist, enter the same MAC and resend the link. The MAC itself stays the same after a reset.
Lips and voices drift apart through a soundbar
Look under Settings, Sound, Expert Settings for Digital Output Audio Format and Digital Output Audio Delay. Setting the format to PCM helps when an older soundbar is slow to decode a channel’s Dolby audio, and the delay slider fine-tunes what remains.

Questions about Samsung Smart TV
Do I need a Firestick with a Samsung TV?
Not if the set is from 2016 or later and your regional store lists IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV. A stick becomes worthwhile if you want TiViMate, which has no Tizen version, or if the television is old enough to feel sluggish.
My Samsung came from another EU country. Will it work?
The hardware will. The app catalogue follows the region chosen during first setup, so the players listed may differ from a set bought locally. Set the time zone manually to where you live and try both players; if neither is listed, use an external streamer.
Does Smart IPTV cost anything?
It runs on a seven-day trial, after which its developer charges a one-off activation for that television at siptv.app. The fee belongs to the developer and is not part of any Euroskara plan. IPTV Smarters has no activation charge.
Can I watch 4K channels on my Samsung?
On a 4K model, yes, provided the connection holds steady and the channel is offered in 4K. Wired Ethernet or a strong 5 GHz signal matters more than anything else. Older sets can struggle with some high-bitrate feeds, in which case the FHD copy is the practical choice.
Will the television remember the login after standby?
Yes. Both players store the account on the television, so switching off at the remote or at the wall does not sign you out. Only a reset, a reinstall or, occasionally, a major firmware update clears it.
