The walkthrough
List each screen and where its copy comes from
Before installing anything, go round the house. Android TV and Android phones: Google Play, where it is listed in your country. Fire TV: the APK installed with Downloader, as the Firestick guide shows. Samsung and LG: their own stores, where it may appear as IPTV Smarters or IPTV Smarters Player. iPhone, iPad and Apple TV: the App Store. Windows and macOS: the installer from the developer’s site. Where a store does not list it, choose another player from the related guides instead of an unofficial copy.
Install the genuine app
Check the publisher name on each listing and steer clear of look-alikes that come with channel lists built in or ask for in-app payments for so-called premium streams. Smarters itself is only a player and contains no channels. A genuine copy never asks you to pay for streams inside the app, so any listing that does is not the one you want. On a Fire TV, fetch the APK only from an address you trust, such as the link support sends or the developer’s own site.
Pick Xtream Codes rather than M3U
On first launch, accept the terms and choose Login with Xtream Codes API. The M3U option also works but brings less: the Xtream route pulls in the programme guide, catch-up and on-demand library by itself, whereas an M3U often needs a separate guide address. Use M3U only if support recommends it for a particular device.
Type the three details with care
The profile name is free text, and naming it after the room helps if a device ever holds two profiles. Username and password are case sensitive. The server URL includes http:// and the port, as in http://example.com:8080, with nothing after the number. Press Add User and let the first sync finish before exploring.
Set time format and guide offset
The guide follows the device clock, so check the device time zone first. Inside Smarters, the Time Format setting switches to 24-hour display, which reads naturally for most European viewers. Some versions also include an EPG time shift setting, useful only when the device clock is right and one source’s listings still sit consistently early or late.
Choose the player engine and decoding
Under Settings, Player Selection chooses between the built-in player and an external one such as VLC where it is installed. In Player Settings, hardware decoding is the right default on televisions and sticks. If a single channel misbehaves while the rest play normally, change decoding for that channel from the playback menu rather than altering the global setting.
Switch audio and subtitles while watching
During playback, bring up the controls and use the audio and subtitle icons to choose tracks. European channels sometimes carry the original-language soundtrack alongside a dubbed version or an audio description track, and the list shows exactly what that feed contains.
Add favourites and hide unused countries
In Live TV, add channels to favourites from each channel’s options. The parental control section can lock categories, which doubles as a practical way of hiding country groups nobody at home watches, as long as the PIN is somewhere you will find it. Favourites are stored per installation, so repeat this on each device. It takes a few minutes per screen, and it means the bedroom television can open on children’s channels while the lounge opens on news and sport.
When it does not go to plan
One device says the account has expired while the others play
That device still holds a profile from an old plan or trial. Open the list of users, delete the old profile and add a new one with the details from your latest activation message.
The guide is blank for the first stretch after logging in
The first sync downloads guide data for every channel, which takes time over a slow Wi-Fi link. Leave the app on a channel for a few minutes, then refresh the guide from Settings. On Samsung and LG televisions, closing and reopening the app after that first sync also helps.
The app closes by itself on an early Fire TV Stick
Low memory is the usual reason on older sticks. Clear the app’s cache under Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, close other apps and restart the stick. If it keeps happening, that stick has reached its limit with a large channel list.
The same unwanted soundtrack starts on every channel
Smarters plays the default track the feed advertises. Switch it during playback; if it resets on each channel change, try the other engine under Player Selection, which may remember track choices differently.
The login fails only on mobile data
Some mobile networks restrict connections to less common ports. Try the phone on Wi-Fi to confirm the account itself is fine, then ask support whether there is an address better suited to mobile networks.
Programmes after midnight appear under the wrong day
The player splits days at the device’s own midnight, so this points to a wrong time zone rather than bad guide data. Correct the zone in the device settings, then refresh the EPG from inside Smarters.
Subtitles appear that nobody switched on
The feed may carry a subtitle track the player selected automatically. Open the subtitle icon during playback and choose off, or pick the language you actually want.

Questions about IPTV Smarters Pro
Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
The player is free on the platforms where it is listed. It contains no channels and needs a subscription entered as an Xtream login. Be wary of copies that charge for content inside the app.
Why is Smarters missing from my country’s store?
Store listings are regional and change over time. If yours does not list it, TiViMate on Android devices, Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG, or iPlayTV on Apple TV accept the same account.
How many devices can hold the login?
As many as you like. Your plan limits how many streams play at the same moment, not how many devices have the app installed.
Does Smarters show catch-up?
Where a channel offers catch-up, Smarters shows it in the guide and in the Catch Up section. Not every channel carries it.
Should I pick Smarters or TiViMate?
Smarters for households with non-Android screens, TiViMate for Android devices where the guide grid matters most. Plenty of homes run both, with the same login on each.
Can I watch two channels side by side?
The Android version of Smarters includes a multi-screen view. Each channel playing at once counts as a separate stream, so two side by side need a plan with at least two connections.
Does Smarters keep working after the free trial login ends?
The app keeps working, but the trial profile stops loading channels. Delete it from the list of users and add a new profile with the details from your paid plan.
