Most likely causes
- The installed player is an old build with a crash bug that a newer version has fixed.
- The app cache is corrupted, often after an interrupted update, so the player closes as soon as it tries to read it.
- The box is low on free storage or memory, so Android closes the player under load to reclaim resources.
- A sideloaded APK is built for phones rather than Android TV, so it crashes on the TV interface or a remote press.
- The playlist or its data is very large and the player runs out of memory while loading it on a modest box.
Fixes, in the order to try them
Update the player first. Open the Google Play Store on the device, go to your apps, and update the player if an update is offered. If you sideloaded it, download and install the current Android TV build from the developer over the top. A stale version is the most common reason a player suddenly starts closing.
Clear the app cache. In Settings open Apps, choose your player, and select Clear cache. This removes corrupted temporary data without deleting your playlist, and it resolves many crashes on its own. Try the app again before going further.
Clear the app data only if needed. If clearing the cache did not help, use Clear data or Clear storage on the same screen. This resets the app and you will need to re-enter your Euroskara playlist afterwards, so have the URL and login to hand.
Free up storage and memory. Still in Apps or Storage, remove players and apps you do not use and clear their caches. Android TV boxes that are nearly full close apps under load, which shows up as the player stopping. Aim to leave comfortable free space.
Restart the box cleanly. Power the device off at the wall for thirty seconds and back on, rather than only using standby. A full restart clears memory and stuck background processes that a quick standby does not, and it often steadies a box that had been closing apps after several hours of use without a reboot.
Reinstall the player. If it still stops after updating and clearing data, uninstall it, restart the box, and install a fresh copy from the Play Store or the current Android TV APK. This clears a broken install and pulls the latest build.
If every player you try keeps stopping, the box may be too low on resources for the app. Switch to a lighter player, such as the one in our Android TV setup guide, or use a box with more storage and memory. If a single specific app crashes on several devices, tell the desk so we can flag it.

IPTV app keeps stopping on Android TV FAQ
Why does my IPTV app keep closing on Android TV?
Most often it is an out-of-date build or a corrupted cache. Update the player and clear its cache in Settings, Apps first. If it still closes, low storage or memory on the box is the next thing to check.
Will clearing the cache delete my playlist?
No. Clearing the cache only removes temporary data and keeps your playlist and settings. Clearing data or storage is the step that resets the app, and after that you do need to re-enter your Euroskara playlist URL and login.
I cleared everything and it still stops. What now?
Uninstall the player, restart the box, and install a fresh copy. If it still crashes, the box may be too tight on storage or memory for that app, so try a lighter player or a box with more free space.
Is the crash a sign my subscription stopped?
No. A subscription problem shows as an empty channel list or a login error, not an app closing to the home screen. Crashes are an app or device issue; if channels still will not load once the app is stable, then check the line.
Does the box brand or model affect how often apps stop?
It can. A box with more storage and memory closes apps far less often than a budget stick that is always near full. If crashes continue on one device after every fix, moving to a better-specified box is usually the lasting answer.
